We began the day with our yummy pancake breakfast! Here we are enjoying our delicious pancakes:

We began the day learning how to write a note. We read three notes and determined why they were written. We decided one was written to say thank you, another to remind a friend, and the last was to give best wishes. We then wrote our own notes ensuring that we use the proper format.

After, we had physical education with Ms. Lovan.

When we came up we started working on posters for Earth Day so that the whole school can become aware and involved in this worldwide celebration.

During Math, we looked at the difference between measuring using centimeters and metres. We noticed that centimeters are smaller and metres are a bigger measurement; we now know that 100 cm go into 1 metre. After we looked for objects that we thought were less than 1 metre, about 1 metre, and more than 1 metre.  We estimated how long we thought these objects were and then we were each given metre sticks and we measured each object to see if we were right. After we looked at various items and determined if we would use centimetres or metres to measure them.

After first recess and lunch, we had French. After we wrote in our agendas and then completed any unfinished work.

After second recess and lunch we wrote a good copy of the paragraphs we wrote yesterday. At the end of the day we watched a Bill Nye video about ways that we can reduce, reuse, and recycle in the kitchen. We learned that aluminum foil takes 4000 years to decompose so we need to make sure to recycle it so it can be used again and again. We also learned how important it is to use reusable bags when going shopping instead of paper or plastic. Also, we can recycle food waste and use it as fertilizer for our gardens. What great tips to help protect our Earth!
