Terrific Tuesday!

Attention all parents and students: We are having our Spring Fundraiser to raise funds to support our Science and Physical Education Program! There will be a variety of exciting EVENTS with a number of amazing PRIZES for students to win through their participation!

Some of the big events to make note of for THIS week are:

April 27: Sundae Fun Day again!!

April 29: Bowling Party!!!

What an exciting week!!!!

Furthermore,

A Pledge form went home in efforts to renovate the school’s science lab and PE program. We kindly ask that all donations be turned in by Thursday, April 28th, 2016. All students who collect a minimum donation amount of $35.00 will be treated to a bowling party on April 29th!

Prizes can also be won for students who raise money! Grand prizes include a movie and pizza party; this is for the class that raises the most money!

We began the day writing our homework in our agendas and then continuing our rough drafts of our recounts from last week.

We then had physical education with Mr. Slyk.

After we had Math. As a class, we looked at various shapes and needed to figure out if these shapes had equal parts and where the line of symmetry would go. Students then did so on their own with various shapes, pictures, and figures. Students also drew the reflection for four figures. We also learned how to use a Mira to find a line of symmetry. We noticed that when we use the Mira we could see the reflection of one side in the Mira line up with the other side, if both sides of an object, figure, or letter have equal parts. After, we used the Mira to find lines of symmetry with letters in the alphabet.  We then had a challenge of coming up with a word that had a line of symmetry! Some words we came up with were WOW and OH.

After first recess and lunch we had Music. We then had French with Mdm. Stella.

We were then off to another Spring Fundraiser Assembly, where two teachers were pied in the face by the tops students who raised the most amount of money for today!

At the end of the day, students worked on the good copy of their recounts, ensuring to look over and edit their work.
