Wonderful Wednesday!!

Tomorrow we will be having a Bake sale!!! Students will be able to purchase various baked goods and popcorn!!

Tomorrow students are being asked to come dressed in their costumes because we will be having a day performance tomorrow for Art’s Night at 1pm.

We will be having two performances tomorrow. The first at 1pm and the next at 7pm. Students are being asked to be at the school for 6:30 pm for the evening performance.

We will be having our final Spelling test on Friday.

We began the day reading Flat Stanley and the Japanese Ninja Surprise. We first did a retell of chapter 8, focusing on important details and then we read Chapter 9 (our last chapter) as a class. Stanley and his family went sightseeing in Tokyo with Oda Nobu and then they needed to go back home, since the boys had school. When Stanley returned home, he received a letter from Oda Nobu that thanked him for reminding him WHO he is. Oda Nobu also included a picture with his new karate class. Oda Nobu joined a karate class with other children so he could finally learn karate and one day becomes a karate master, WHO he has always wanted to be. We then discussed the author message as a class. Students did some in-depth thinking! Some messages we came up with: always believe in yourself and it is never too late to follow your dreams!

We then moved on to UOI. We are performing action as a class. We are being broken up into groups and we are coming up with a presentation about RECYCLING. Students will perform their presentation to various classes at SJA. Students began working on their skits today.

After first recess and lunch, we went to go watch the whole school performance for Art’s Night.

We then had a special surprise. We took part in an exotic petting zoo! We got to meet various exotic animals and learn more about them. We were also able to relate some of the information we learned about back to our UOI unit! When we met the lemur, we learned how lemurs are now endangered because of loss of habitat. Many trees are being cut down and lemurs are losing their homes. We learned that we could help by RECYCLING so that fewer trees will be cut down. Here we are:
