Tremendous Thursday!

This morning we completed a writing activity that is going to help me know what the students already know about writing a letter and a recount. I will use what the students produced to help guide my teaching.

After students had physical education with Miss. Lovan.

When students returned, we watched a video that helped us better understand the seven continents. We explored various characteristics of each continent.  We learned that it is so cold in Antarctica that no one lives there!!

Here is the video:

We then chose a place that we would like to visit in the world and wrote what we would pack if we were visiting this country/city using procedural writing. We needed to keep in mind the climate of where we are going to help us pack our suitcase.

In math, we continued to make patterns and represent them in different ways (shape, letters, numbers, colour, symbols, words).

After first recess and lunch students had French.

When students returned, they wrote their homework in their agenda and completed any unfinished work.

Following second recess and lunch, students wanted to sing the continents and ocean songs. I decided to record their fantastic progress and knowledge of the seven continents and five oceans.

Afterwards, we made passports in visual arts so we can travel do our chosen country/city. We included our name, age, gender, home country, date of birth, eye colour, and hair colour.

Homework:

1.     Spelling Test Tomorrow
2.     Math Test Tuesday

3.     Fall Fair forms
