Tremendous Thursday!!!

Happy Valentine’s and Family Day!!!!


Students will be performing their poems next week so practice practice practice grade 2’s!! Remember to be loud and use expression.

We began the day playing a Valentine house game.

After we wrote our unit 18 spelling test.

We then had physical education with Ms. Lovan.

When we returned we began our presentation for UOI. Students came up with some very creative ideas!!!! Here we are:






Then the Maples students joined us!!! We first introduced ourselves and told the class one person that we love and why. We then worked on a Valentine activity together. We first wrote a letter to one person that we loved and we explained why. We then made butterflies for them. We decorated them and put a lollipop in the middle with eyes. Here we all are working very hard for our Valentine!

When we were finished we completed various Valentine's Day activities:

-A Valentine crossword
-Put the Valentine words in alphabetical order
-Unscramble the Valentine words
-Valentine Word Search
-Colouring Valentine pictures
-Figure out the Valentine jokes by decoding the puzzle
-Find the two matching Valentine pictures 

After first recess and lunch we had a bit of French and then we watched the Macbeth play.


When we returned we did a math activity with candy! We were each given conversation candy hearts and we needed to decide which one we though tasted best. Afterwards, we went around the class and asked the other friends what was their favourite candy heart. We made a tally of the results, a bar graph, and then answered questions about our tally and bar graph.










Before second recess and lunch, our Maple friends needed to go back to their school. We had so much fun with them!!!

At the end of the day we finished up our UOI presentations and then had a Valentine’s day Party. We danced, did some valentine activities, and ate candy!!

 Homework:
1.    Read for 20 minutes
2.    Sign Spelling Test
3.    Practice Poem: students will be performing these next week
