Tremendous Tuesday!!

We began the day having our pancake breakfast!! So Yummy! We then had art with Mr. Monaghan. After we had gym with Ms. Lovan.

When students returned we learned more about Canada. We discussed the various symbols of Canada:

-The Canadian Flag
-A beaver
-The loon
-Maple leaf
-RCMP
-First Nations People
-Maple Syrup
-Hockey
-Maple Trees
-Fox

We then watched three videos to learn more about the symbols of Canada and what makes Canada so special.

During Math, we made a skeleton for various 3-D shapes. First we began with the cube.  Students used marshmallows for the vertices and toothpicks for the edges. Students then explained how they chose to make the cube in their math books. Students then made skeletons for a triangular prism and pyramid; they  explained their thinking.

After first recess and lunch we had French. After, we wrote our homework and then practiced counting the edges, vertices, and faces on 3-D shapes.

After second recess and lunch, we made any corrections to our critter explanations and then began the good copy.

At the end of the day we read a book as a class and practiced Reading Comprehension. We read The Day before Thanksgiving and then we each answered what was an important event in the story and why.
