Wonderful Wednesday!!

Happy 100^th day of School!!!

Valentine Dress up day tomorrow!

Summative Projects are due tomorrow. Students will be presenting them to the class. Students need to create a mechanism using one simple machine as well as complete the writing package that went home.

We will have 10 grade 2 friends join us from the Maples Academy tomorrow!! They will spend the day and watch the Macbeth play with us!

We began the day finishing our simple machines flip flap books. Students showed their understanding of the wheel and axle, pulley, screw, lever, inclined plane, and wedge.  

After we had physical education with Ms. Lovan.

When students returned we began a writing activity called When I am 100 years old. First Ms. Jaskolka told us what she will be like when she is 100 and then she showed us a picture of what she would look like. Then we used a graphic organizer to write about what we will look like, be able to do, not to do, what will change/be different, and what will stay the same when we are 100 years old.

After first recess and lunch we had French.

When students returned they wrote their homework in their agendas and then completed their graphic organizers from the morning.

After second recess and lunch, students worked on writing a good copy for When I am 100 years old. When students were finished they drew a picture of what they think they will look like when they are 100 years old and then we used an app on the Ipad to see what we will look like when we are 100! At the end of the day, students coloured Valentine pictures.

Tomorrow we will have 10 grade 2 students coming from the Maples and joining us during the day. This is very exciting!
