Fantastic Friday!!

The Grade Ones will be turning their classrooms into grocery stores for our Organization unit. The students have been working really hard to stock it full of healthy snacks and drinks. On Tuesday Jan. 17th we will be opening our stores to SJA classes to purchase healthy snacks and drinks for $1-2. All proceeds will be donated to the Sick Kids Hospital.

We began the day having French with Mlle. Jessica.

After, Ms. Baimas’ class came to survey our class cultures.

We then had physical education wit Mr. H.

When we returned, we went over to survey the class cultures in Ms. Baimas’ class. We used a tally chart to keep track of our information.

Following first recess and lunch we reviewed the holidays and traditions that we learned about throughout our unit as a class and in groups.

After we worked on our International Day project about Russia.

At the end of the day, Michael’s mom came in to teach us more about Russia. We also explored Russian folk tales and fairy tales. We watched a cartoon and looked through some books. We then created our own Fairy Tale land inspired by Pushkin’s poems. Alexander Pushkin was a famous poet from Russia and the cartoon that we watched was based on his poems, specifically Ruslan and Lyudmila. Look at our amazing and magical fairy tale land that we created!!!

Have a great weekend!
