Wonderful Wednesday!!!

Welcome back everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful and restful holiday!

We began the day having French with Mlle. Jessica.

We then worked on a pre-assessment for our next math unit: Data Management and Probability.

After we had physical education with Ms. Jaskolka and Ms. Baimas. We played hot dog tag!

When students returned, Pranati told us all about her trip to India!! She wrote a journal so she would not forget and she read to us what she wrote.

Following first recess and lunch we discussed a holiday that many of us celebrated recently: New Years. We each had an opportunity to speak about what we did that day and we looked for connections between our classmates. We then had a conversation about New Years Resolutions and why people make them. We then wrote our own New Years resolutions. On a sheet of paper we wrote a new years resolution related to school and we also wrote about a learner profile that we want to improve on and how. Students folded up their new years resolution and put them in a box. We will revisit these New Years resolutions at the end of the year and see if we met our goals.

We then headed over to the library. We reviewed important library rules and then we explored the new set up of our library. After we picked one book to keep for a week.

After second recess and lunch we began our new novel study, ‘Horrible Harry and the Holidaze.’ We looked at the title and the pictures on the cover of the book to predict what our new novel study will be about. Students wrote down their predictions ensuring that each idea connected to one another. Tomorrow we will read the first chapter.

At the end of the day, we sang happy birthday to Arnav. Happy birthday Arnav!!
