Tremendous Thursday!

Tomorrow is International Day!! Parents are welcome to join us from 2:30-3:15. Students are able to come dressed in the Russian flag colours (white, red, and blue). Alternatively, students are asked to come in their dress uniform.
Also, we will not have kiss and ride tomorrow.

Reregistration is due February 9th. In order to ensure a spot for your child next year, please return your reregistration package before February 9th.

We began the day having French with Mlle. Jessica.

We then moved onto math. We had another conversation about events that are certain, likely, unlikely, and impossible. In partners, we played another game of probability using spinners. We used spinners to build a picture of a snowperson. One snowperson was labeled A and the other was labeled B; on our spinner we chose which part would be A and B. We then used the spinner to see which snowperson would be the tallest. We learned that the area that covers more of the spinner is more likely to win.

We then had physical education with Mr. H.

After we continued working on our game of probability with our partner.

Following first recess and lunch, we went over our reading comprehension for Horrid Harry and the Holidaze. As a class, we discussed the questions and how to go about answering reading comprehension questions accurately.

We then reviewed the story of the Chinese zodiac. Next we used our masks for an activity that involved using our communication skills. Each student had an opportunity to go into the middle of our circle wearing their mask and their peers took turns explaining and empathizing with how the animal felt during the race. For example: I think the dragon was feeling happy because he helped the other animals across the river. I think the rat was feeling sneaky because he pushed the cat into the water. The students used eye contact and their bodies to communicate with their peers when taking turns going into the middle of our circle.

After second recess and lunch, we continued our previous activity about Chinese New Year. We then work in groups to practice our International Day information.
