Marvelous Monday!!!
We began the day working on our lesson
seven spelling words.
Next we went to French and then Gym.
After first recess and lunch we had Music.
When we returned, we dove into math. Ms.
Jaskolka gave as a word problem and we worked in groups to find different ways
that we could solve this problem:
There were 32 people on a train. 24 came on at the next stop. How many people are on the train altogether?

We used this as a segue into mental math
strategies when adding two digit numbers. Two groups incorporated mental math strategies
when solving the above question and explained their thinking to the class!!
We then used this strategy to solve mental
math problems. Here are some examples:
After second recess and lunch we did some catching
