Tremendous Tuesday!!
We began the day recapping all the holidays
we learned about during our cultures unit: Ramadan, Eid, Kwanzaa, Hanukah, New Years (specifically Chinese New Year), Birthdays around the world, and Christmas around the world.
Then we had French and then Gym.
After first recess and lunch we had Music.
When we reviewed, we marked our homework from yesterday to check for
understanding. Then we talked about different strategies we could use when
counting money amounts together: For example a ball is $1.00 and a doll is
$2.30. Together we would need 3 dollars and 30 cents to buy both. We then
worked in groups and pretended we were grocery shopping and we found the cost
of various items together.
After second recess and lunch we completed
a challenge in partners!! Ms. Jaskolka put envelopes all over the classroom and
in each envelope had a clue about a specific holiday. We had 26 envelopes with
clues inside This was so much fun!!!
