Tremendous Tuesday!

We began the day having art with Mr. Monaghan and physical education with Ms. Lovan.

When students returned we were learning about the Calendar. We looked at our class calendar and discussed what the calendar shows us, the month we are in, and what day it is. We sang days of the week song and a song to help remember all the months and what order they go in. We were given a calendar of November and we needed to copy it properly making sure we began on Sunday and ended on Sunday. We realized that November has 30 and not 31 days. We noticed that when we filled the calendar we had to put the 30 under 23 because there were no more boxes left. We answered questions about the calendar to show our knowledge about calendars:
circle the first Tuesday of the month; circle the last Saturday of the month; put an x on the day a week from today; circle the last day of the month; colour the weekdays yellow and the weekend blue; how many days are in a week. We did a lot of practice with the calendar today!

After first recess and lunch, we had French. After French, we continued answering questions about the calendar and working on a calendar book.

After second recess and lunch we wrote our comments for our report cards.
At the end of the day, students completed their learner profile and attitude for the month. The learner profile for the month is Thinker. We thought about a time that we helped solve a problem. We wrote a story and drew a picture about solving a problem. The attitude for the month is Confidence. We wrote and drew about what we could teach someone else with confidence.

We will tell you what we learned about Calendars today:
