Magnificent Monday!

We began the day doing our spelling. We first wrote out the words for the week and then showed our understanding in our spelling books.

Students were then off to physical education with Ms. Lovan.

Afterwards, we began working on commercials in groups. Students are now taking everything that they have learned in UOI and we are making commercials about a product. Students need to make sure to include:

We will work on practicing these commercials tomorrow.

In math, we estimated how long it took to blink our eyes 10 times, draw a face, sing “Row, Row, Row Your Boat,” put on our coat, wash our hands. Then we used a pendulum to see how many swings it took us to do each activity. Using the pendulum, we can see how fast seconds are.

After first recess and lunch, we had French.

When students returned, they wrote their homework in their agendas and then did some silent reading.

During second recess we sang the two and three times table song.

Afterwards, we began brainstorming a letter we are going to write to our future selves at the end of grade 2. We wrote point form notes about three things we want to: improve on, hope to learn, and interests.

We then spoke about Remembrance Day. We discussed how Remembrance Day is an important day to remember those who fought and protected our country. We make poppies to remember them. This is what we did today; we began making poppies today and we will finish them tomorrow.
