Terrific Tuesday!

***We need more newspapers for our Scientist in Schools workshop next week. If you could bring in a newspaper by Friday to help reach our goal that would be greatly appreciated!!***

UOI Project:
Students will be building their own bridge using materials of their choice. Students will be building their bridge at school. Students are to finish their diagrams for their bridge for tomorrow. Students are also required to bring in their materials by tomorrow. Materials are to be brought in a bag labeled with the student’s name.

We began the day having French with Mdm. Stella.

We wrote our homework in our agendas and then we were off to Art.

After first recess and lunch, we had physical education with Mr. Slyk.

When students returned, they continued working on their Math Review.

We then continued working on writing detailed sentences within a paragraph. We reviewed how to write a paragraph on a chosen topic. We need to ensure that our sentences within our paragraph are about the given topic. We also need to keep in mind the ways that we can add detail to our sentences by answering: who? What? Where? When? Why? And How? Today we needed to come up with a topic and write two detailed sentences that included our topic.

After second recess and lunch, we reviewed strong and stable structures using a PowerPoint:
Strong and Stable

We then read the first chapter in Freckle Juice by Judy Bloom. We met Andrew, a boy who wants to have freckles just like Nicky Lane. Sharon tells Andrew that she can help him get freckle with a special drink called “freckle juice” but he would need to pay her money!
