Tremendous Thursday!!

Tayler is our action star!!!!

She built a hotel and a house out of found materials at home!!!! 

We began the day doing a fun experiment about stability! Our Questions: Does adding weight to the top or bottom of a structure affect its stability? As scientists we began with our hypothesis and then we performed the experiment more than three times!! Check it out!!!!!

We learned that a structure needs a wide and strong foundation in order to be able to maintain a structures stability and strength so that it does not collapse or fall over!!!

Next we had French and then Gym.

After first recess and lunch we had Music.

Next we had another fun and exciting Spring Fundraising assembly. Check it out!!!

Then we were able to enjoy our delicious ice cream sundaes!!

At recess, students continued to perform action by building structures out of snow!!! They were able to explain to Ms. Jaskolka that they needed a wider base (foundation) in order to build a taller structure and that they chose to make it more narrow at the top so that it would stay standing! Way to go!!!

After second recess and lunch we began working on our summative project for our current unit of inquiry. Students are very excited that they will have the opportunity to design and build their own bridge!!!!

At the end of the day we sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to Vaibhav!

4.     Dance Party tomorrow – There will be a snack bar where students can buy delicious treat!!

5.     Earth Day dress up tomorrow

6.     Summative package (brainstorm and design) due Monday

7.     Scientist in the school on Monday – if possible please bring in newspapers

8.     Pictures for Art’s night due tomorrow
