Wonderful Wednesday!!
A Reminder that Art Reach forms are due tomorrow. Art Reach takes place
during school hours and will give us an opportunity to work with real artists!!
Arnav has been chosen as our
knowledgeable winner for October!!
We began the day having French with
Mlle. Jessica.
We then worked on telling time. We
reviewed that the small hand on the clock is the hour hand; the hour hand
determines the hour from 1-12. We also discussed the minute hand. We know that
when counting around the clock, we can count by ones, or we can make it easier
and count by 5s’. We practiced counting by 5 up until 60 and then filled in our
own clocks counting by 5. After, we practiced telling time on an analog clock.
Next, we had physical education
with Mr. H.
When we returned, we first
practiced telling time together to the quarter hour (3:30, 4:15, 12:00, 9:45).
After we divided our clock in
quarters and labeled 12 with o’clock, 3 with quarter after, 6 with half past,
and 9 with quarter to. Students did so in order to help them figure out how to
determine what time it is when the minute hand moves around the clock every
fifteen minutes.
Students then showed their
knowledge in their math books.
When students returned,
they worked on their healthy hygiene posters and their good copy of their toy
explanation.
Afterwards, students worked
on a journal entry. Students wrote about their favourite meal and used detail
to explain why this is their favourite meal (breakfast, lunch, or dinner).
Following second recess and
lunch, we read chapter 17 and 18 of Charlotte’s Web. We then shared our
predictions with the class about how the story will end.

3. Organic item for basket (please
no food because the item needs to last until December)
4. Memorize Guy Fawkes Poem for
Friday (optional)
