Tremendous Tuesday!!

Action Star!!!!

Our action star today is Sebastian!! He brought in and shared a book about heroes from around the world!!! He also read a passage about Barack Obama and all of the wonderful things he accomplished. Great action Sebastian!!!! We will all be performing action next Tuesday in memory of Terry Fox!!! We are being good citizens by raising money for those who have cancer and running for them on Tuesday!

What a fun, busy and productive day!

We began the day with a math challenge from Ms. Jaskolka based on our current unit!

We then had French and then gym.

After first recess and lunch we had Music.

Next we moved onto number patterns on a number line. We explored patterns of 2, 5 and 10 beginning at different numbers. We were each given a number and based on where the pattern began and our skip counting pattern, we passed Cuddly over accordingly.  We then showed our understanding using our math books. Cuddly had so much fun joining in on our math class!!!

After second recess and lunch we had fun with verbs outside!!!! Ms. Jaskolka let us know that in order for a sentence to be a real sentence there are two very important words that need to be included: a noun and a verb. We reviewed what a noun means and then we played a game of Simon says to gain a better understanding of verbs!

During UOI we continued talking about what it means to be a good citizen. Part of being a good citizen is making decision as a collective. We learned that one way to do so is by voting. First, Ms. Jaskolka posed a problem to us: should we learn mathematical concepts at school? We became aware that before voting it is important to consider all points of view; therefore, we created a ‘for and against’ chart. We talked about all the reasons that we could think about why we should and shouldn’t have math at school. Tomorrow we will have the very important job to take in all of the points made today and vote whether or not we should learn math at school. What a big decision!!!

We have all been working so hard, so at the end of the day we had some fun outside!
