Fantastic Friday!
**Saturday October 3 The Maples is having a Fall Fair!! Come and join in the fun!!**

**Next Wednesday September 30 we will be having the Terry Fox run. Pledge forms went home yesterday. Please have your child come in comfortable casual clothing because we will be running outside. Thanks so much!**
**We will be having our first unit (Patterning and Sorting) test on Monday. Reviews went home today.**
Action stars!!
Today we had Krina and Ronit show us their interactive globe that
they use to help them learn more about the continents and countries of the
world!
We began the day working on our
patterning and sorting review. Students will use these to help them study for
their test on Monday.
For our unit of inquiry, we
explored Italy by watching a video:
We then found Italy on our world
map and realized the simplest way to find this country in Europe is to look for
the shape of a boot:
After first recess and lunch, we
had physical education with Ms. Lovan.
When students returned, we had our
unit 2 spelling test.
We then continued exploring Italy.
We watched a video about Venice and started filling out a graphic organizer
about food, clothing, shelter, transportation, leisure, and other (any other
information about Venice). We will continue this on Monday:

about Rome at home. It is a lot of fun and very informative:
After second recess and lunch we
wrote our homework in our agendas. We then began creating our own maps in our
Ontario Writing books. We decided our topic and the labels for our map. We will
continue these on Monday.
At the end of the day, Ronit and Krina showed us how they have been action stars. They brought in an interactive globe that helps them
learn more about the continents and countries of the world.
