Saturday October 3 The Maples is having a Fall Fair!! Come and join in the fun!!
Next Wednesday September 30 we will be having the Terry Fox run. Pledge forms will go home tomorrow. Please have your child come in comfortable casual clothing because we will be running outside. Thanks so much!
We began the day having French with Mdm. Stella.
After we compared two communities in Canada for
UOI. We looked at Igloolik in Nunavut and Vancouver in British Columbia. We
watched two videos to help us better understand five features of their
community: food, clothing, weather, recreation, and transportation.

the first few minutes.

After, we had Art with Ms. Kerr.
After first recess and lunch, we continued with
UOI. We learned more about Canada and all of the provinces. We then plotted the
provinces on a map.
In math, we reviewed what we have learned about
patterning and sorting:
We then worked in our math
workbooks, representing patterns in various ways. We also made our own word
patterns and had a friend draw the pattern.
After second recess and
lunch, we did our novel study. We first practiced our summarization skills by
retelling the first chapter as a class. We then read chapter 2. We learned that
Henry was starting to feel really strange and by the end of the chapter he
started getting brown spots!!
