Wonderful Wednesday!
After care invoices went home today. Please return by
October 19
We will be having our unit 4 spelling test tomorrow.
We began the day having French with Mdm. Stella.
We then began our summative project. We are creating our own
country, choosing where it is located, the name, and the flag. We will be
focusing on the weather, clothing, food, and shelter in our countries. Today we
began our rough copies.
After first recess and lunch, we had physical education with
Ms. Lovan.
When students returned, we continued solving addition and
subtraction word problems. Students are asked to pay attention to the numbers
that are given in the question and to use those numbers first when solving the
problem. Also, to pay attention to key words like left over (subtraction) or altogether (addition).
We also continued writing expanded sentences. We are getting
much better adding detail to our sentences!
After second recess and lunch, we began making our own book
cover. We pretended that we had a fever from our favourite food (like Henry)
and made our book cover related to this topic.
At the end of the day, Joshua shared with us what he has
been inquiring about frogs. We learned so much new information about frogs!
Manny was also an action star
and taught us more about India and Japan from books he got at the library!!
