Fabulous Friday!!!

We began the day with a presentation from Ava’s dad!! We are learning about electricity during our unit of inquiry and he came in with his team to show us electricity in action and how electricity can help save lives!!!! The company Solaris uses a robot called Lytbot to help disinfect hospitals. Lytbot uses Ultraviolet C (we learned that this energy is similar to the light that would be given off if we were close to the sun!) We learned all about how Lytbot works, the energy transformation (electrical energy to light energy) and we got to see Lytbot in action!!! Since the light that Lytbot gives off is very strong, we ensured to step out of the room and only look at the reflection of the light that was given. Thank you so much to Ava’s dad and his whole team for teaching us more about electricity and how important it is to understand electricity in order to understand how it is applied in our world.

Next, we went over the mid-unit review for Math.

Then we had French.

Next, we worked on our electric cars.

After first recess and lunch we worked in our literature circles on the final chapter of City of Ember!

Matthew and Thomas presented their project on nuclear energy.

Then we reflected on the Zentangle art that we completed. We looked at each triangle and we determined the elements and principals of design that we used for each triangle.

Then we reflected on our unit on Electricity. We chose our favourite part and discussed the learner profile and attitudes that we displayed during this unit.

After second recess and lunch we had physical education.

Have a great night!
