Marvelous Monday!!!

We began the day reviewing GCF (Greatest Common Factor) and LCM (Lowest Common Multiple). We watched a video to learn about the ‘birthday cake’ or ‘ladder’ method to find the GFC or LCM.

We then practiced finding the GFC and LCM.

Next, we completed a limerick checklist to ensure that we included all the important components of a limerick.

Then we began a new art project: Zentangle Pinwheels. https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTHjPaBgP8lG-VTYvv7mMog09K_GmzKwU9gQ48zqgp9BtQUDptY61gxdzYvY7B7E4xuGpp5PGTHppXpkE6ThRXM7HceRzNA3cxfYsN5m405ru9BOKYkVt1ULGMyUXo0ZdJO9gok8GV-RU/s320/zen+2083.jpgZentangle Pinwheels
Zentangles are intricate designs built up by completing small areas of pattern at a time. It’s a kind of doodling but with a consistent look. Relaxation and focus is part of the technique.
Students will be using Zentangles to decorate their pinwheel. On one side of the pinwheel, students will choose 4 geometric Zentangle patterns. On the other side, students will contrast their Zentangle with a free-flowing, non-geometric design as a contrast.
As students complete each section, they will reflect on the elements and principles of design that makes up their pattern.
Students will then assemble their pinwheel, appreciate how beautiful it looks, and explain how it connects to our electricity UOI.

Here are two videos to help students pick designs for their Zentangle.

Then we had French.

After first recess and lunch we completed our literature circles for chapter 16.

Next Suhana and Mona and Daniel and Shivam presented their summative projects:

Then we began working on our Zentageles. Check them out!

We also worked on our electric cars today. Students are finishing up the building process and problem solving how to assemble the battery, wires, switch and motor so that their car will move on its own.

After second recess and lunch we had physical education with Mr. Orr.

Homework:

1.  Read daily
2.  Writing activity due Next Monday
3.  Math sheet Questions 1-10
4.  Novel Study Chapter 17
